Karen Wright has coached top business leaders and helped individuals and teams from Fortune 500 companies, professional service firms, and hospital/healthcare delivery organizations manage change, increase productivity, integrate their personal and professional lives, and achieve their own definitions of success. Her particular expertise lies in working with high-performing and top-tier professionals transitioning to broader leadership roles.
Prior to becoming a coach, Karen enjoyed a successful career in consumer packaged goods marketing and advertising, working with Fortune 500 companies in both Canada and the U.S. As a result, she has had direct experience of the situations and stresses her executive-level clients face every day and can relate to the issues and opportunities they bring to their coaching engagements.
She is a nationally published columnist and sought-after speaker, having been featured many times in the media including CTV News, CBC Radio One, The Globe & Mail, The National Post, Investor’s Business Daily, CFRA Radio Ottawa, TalkRadio (U.K.), the Toronto Star, Kiplinger’s and Computer World Magazine.
Karen focuses her coaching and speaking engagements on ways individuals can take more responsibility for their own career management and fulfillment, and how organizations can be better places to work. Core to her coaching philosophy is the belief that personal happiness and professional fulfillment can be achieved all at once.
Karen’s first book, “The Complete Executive: The 10-Step System for Great Leadership Performance” was released in September 2012. Her latest, The Accidental Alpha Woman: The Guide to Thriving When Life Feels Overwhelming was released in November 2020. Karen coaches TED Fellows, and is a strategic advisor to Animo.ai, a start-up creating a platform to use AI to track employee mental health and well-being and take action to improve it.
Karen was acknowledged as the inaugural recipient, in 2020, of the Lifetime Achievement Award from the International Coaching Federation, based on her contributions to and leadership within the field of coaching.
