Lara is a management consultant by training, an entrepreneur by choice and an educator at heart.
Beginning her career at a hedge fund, Lara is used to high stakes negotiations and relationship building with stock exchanges, regulators and board members. Later as a management consultant, she honed her skills in strategy development and change management.
In 2014, Lara co-founded DigitalMatter, a pioneering tech consultancy for real estate developers. The company boasts a remarkable track record of implementing cutting-edge digital strategies on some of Asia’s largest and tallest real estate developments. Built on the principles of DigitalFirst, LifestyleFirst, her team describes her as a “visionary and compassionate leader”. In the days before Slack, DigitalMatter was already a 100% remote company, offering unlimited leave and generous family benefits. Her commitment to developing communication and maintaining trust has been crucial to her team’s success.
At her core, Lara has a big heart. She wants to see everyone in society succeed. She has contributed to curriculum development at aidha, a micro-business school for domestic helpers, as well as Bagosphere, an L&D training program for rural youth in the Philippines. Lara also serves on the advisory board of several social enterprises and thoroughly enjoys judging business competitions at schools and universities.
