Mitch Wienick is an experienced Chief Executive with over 40 years in top positions in the Business Services, Telecommunications, and Consumer Packaged Goods industries.
As the President and CEO of CDI Corporation, a multinational provider of customized outsourcing, staffing, and search services, Mitch recruited three new Board members and four executive leadership team members, changed out the leaders in 4 of 7 business units, and revamped go-to-market strategies in all seven business units. Mitch also made 19 acquisitions – all structured to be earnings neutral or accretive in Year 1 and increased investment coverage from 4 to 9 analysts, driving the stock price to a record high.
As President of Ameritech Consumer Services, at $5B, the largest business unit of Ameritech Corporation (now part of AT&T Corp.), Mitch also launched the Small Business Services Division. He grew it to deliver record revenue ($1.7B), operating income, and ROA with results in line with the top 20% of the S&P 500, and over tripled annual revenue growth rate from 2% historically to 7%. In addition, Mitch sold a long-term security monitoring strategy to the Board of Directors, which vaulted Ameritech to the #2 U.S. provider position within three years. He also led the Senior Management Breakthrough Leadership Team, developing the blueprint for Ameritech’s entry into the $80 billion long-distance market. He received the first-ever Chairman’s Award for superior business results among all business units.
As Senior Group V.P., Dairy Products, at Borden Inc., a $1.9B annual revenue business, Mitch consolidated numerous business lines into three strategic self-standing business units; developed an integrated Borden Diary marketing campaign revitalizing Elsie the Cow as a significant marketing asset and enduring American icon; and, launched Borden Fat-Free Singles nationally, becoming the #2 competitor in just one year.
At Kraft Foods Inc., Mitch served successively as President of the $2.5B Refrigerated Products Division and President of the $2B Grocery Products Division, Kraft Foods’ two largest business units. In these positions, Mitch entered new high-growth markets with critical acquisitions, led numerous new product introductions, turned around two large problem businesses, and won the prestigious Kraft Jade Ring Merit Award for his extraordinary accomplishments and performance.
Mitch has served on the Board of Directors of CDI Corporation, Cielo, Inc., successfully sold to Permira Funds, Atlantic Community Bankers Bank, and Speakeasy Inc., successfully sold to Best Buy, Inc.
Mitch holds an MBA in Business from New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business and a B.A. in Economics from Brooklyn College, City University of New York.
While he currently resides in the Philadelphia area, Mitch is a native of New York City.
